The Green Bay Packers had a memorable 2023-24 NFL season. They became the first 7-seed to ever win a playoff game. As a result, they seem to be ahead of schedule in getting another Super Bowl title.
Now, the Packers have to evaluate every aspect of their team to try to get even better. Because of this, they felt they needed to make a change with a notable member of their coaching staff.
Green Bay Packers Part Ways With DC Joe Barry
According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, DC Joe Barry is not expected to return to the Green Bay Packers in 2024. He has been their defensive coordinator for the last three seasons. Barry’s coaching experience goes as far back as 1995. Now, it appears that he will have to find a new job at this stage of his career.
Green Bay Packers Moving Forward
The Packers averaged 28 points allowed in each of their playoff games. Green Bay’s rush defense was particularly weak in the regular season. They ranked 28th in rushing yards allowed (128.3) per game. Now, they will look to improve upon that in 2024.
