The Green Bay Packers may sneakily have one of the best wide receiver rooms in the NFL. While it took about half a season for first-year starter Jordan Love to mesh with his group of first and second-year pass catchers, the team finished the season with multiple wide receivers that posted 100-yard games. While many debate who the team’s number one wide receiver is, the group themselves is happy with whichever one of them may have a big game on any given Sunday.
One of these wide receivers is Romeo Doubs, who is entering his third season in the NFL. A fourth round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Doubs battled drops and a sprained ankle (for which he missed four games) as a rookie to become one of team’s most dependable receivers in 2023.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Had a Solid Second Season in the NFL

As many (if not all) NFL fans knows, the Packers traded four-time MVP and future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets last offseason. This move paved the way for Love, a first round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, to take over as starting quarterback.
With a new quarterback throwing him passes, Doubs was even better in 2023 than he was as a rookie in 2022. Last season, he registered 59 receptions for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. Both his reception and yards numbers were second on the team, while his eight touchdowns were tied for first (Jayden Reed was first).
All of these were improved from his 42 receptions for 425 yards and three touchdowns that he put up in 2022.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Talks About Playing with Jordan Love

On Friday night, Doubs and Packers legend/Hall of Famer Gilbert Brown were featured at a charity event meant to benefit Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection. During the event, Brown interviewed Doubs and asked him what it was like to play with Love (footage via Mayfield Sports Marketing):
During the interview, Doubs said:
“I always tell people that when my reps started with Jordan, not with Aaron, and that is no disrespect to Aaron Rodgers, all I saw was progression. And he [Love] is just looking forward to the day that is in front of him and he stays in the present moment as much as he can.”
After Rodgers was traded last season, Doubs flew out to California (where Love lives during the offseason) so the two could begin getting to work on their connection.
As seen by the improvement in his numbers, it worked.
Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Romeo Doubs Will Participate in the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats”

As mentioned, Doubs and “The Gravedigger” were featured at an event to benefit an organization called Tricia’s Troops Cancer Connection, or Tricia’s Troops for short.
The organization was formed in 2011 when Tricia Wright and her family founded the charity. Tricia had been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer in January of 2010. Throughout her treatment process, she realized that she and her family were being given an overwhelming amount of support from their friends and neighbors.
She also realized that they were fortunate and that not everyone who battles cancer, or whose families are affected by it, receive the level of support that she did.
So, she and her husband decided to start Tricia’s Troops to help as many cancer patients and their families as they could. Sadly, cancer took Tricia’s life in 2012; but her family and friends are still working on the mission that she started over a decade ago.
On Friday night, Doubs announced that he will be participating in the NFL program “My Cause, My Cleats,” which helps raise awareness and funds for the charities an player chooses.
Doubs has decided that Tricia’s Troops will be his cause:
“My Cause, My Cleats” is celebrated in Weeks 13 and 14 of the NFL season.
