The Green Bay Packers are preparing for an exciting offseason where they’re reinforcing a team that defied expectations and almost took down the San Francisco 49ers.
To even liven up the positive energy within the organization, Kenny Clark leads a delegation of his teammates to the Pro Bowl. With five players named to the game, it’s a nod to the progress of Matt LaFleur’s rebuild with Jordan Love under center.
Green Bay Packers’ Kenny Clark replaces Pro Bowler Jordan Hargrave
ClutchPoints’ Brian Buyawe wrote about Clark’s third Pro Bowl appearance and the circumstances surrounding his selection:
Defensive lineman Kenny Clark will be headed to Florida to participate in the Pro Bowl festivities, per Packers Wire’s Zach Kruse.
This year marks Clark’s third Pro Bowl appearance. The 6-foot-3, 314-pound lineman was also selected during the 2019 and 2021 seasons. Presently, Clark will be replacing Javon Hargrave, who is unable to participate due to an upcoming Super Bowl appearance with the San Francisco 49ers.
Clark’s selection is warranted. The 28-year-old UCLA product finished the 2023 season with 7.5 sacks, 22 solo tackles, and 2 forced fumbles to his name.
He also wrote about the other Packers who will be joining him in Las Vegas:
The others include linebacker Rashan Gary, guard Elgton Jenkins, cornerback Jaire Alexander and cornerback Keisean Nixon. Besides Clark, Jenkins and Alexander also had Pro Bowl selections in the past.
Aaron Jones is named finalist for the Salute to Service Award
Clark and the other Pro Bowlers aren’t the only Green Bay Packers players being recognized by the NFL. Running back Aaron Jones is also being honored for his off-the-field contributions.
Richard Ryman of USA Today reports that the 29-year-old is among the finalists for the Salute to Service Award, an accolade that recognizes a player’s commitment to supporting the country’s military.
Jones is an avid supporter of the troops and is a spokesperson for the Salute to Service initiative. Moreover, he raised awareness towards Patriot K9s of Wisconsin, a nonprofit that looked to help veterans pair up with trained service dogs.
Jones had a decent season with the Green Bay Packers, finishing the season with 656 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns in only 11 games. However, he can expect to get more room in the run game after Jordan Love’s breakout season under center.
