Legendary Super Bowl-winning Green Bay Packers Quarterback Brett Favre remains in the spotlight years after the conclusion of his Hall-of-Fame career.

Favre was closely tied to a massive welfare scandal that saw his ex-business partner plead guilty to using Mississippi welfare money for personal reasons. Favre was accused of using the money to build a volleyball court for his daughter.

Favre was also featured in a recent viral video involving former New York Jets “New York Sack Exchange” member Mark Gastineau, who confronted Favre about giving himself up to legendary New York Giants pass rusher Michael Strahan. Gastineau felt his single-season sack record didn’t deserve to be broken in such a manner and confronted Favre.

Favre’s outspoken political ideals are now thrusting him into the spotlight again. Favre’s scandals along with his divisive and outspoken nature continue to define his post-NFL life.

Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre spoke out against a particular LGBTQ educational activity

Favre, who spoke at a rally for Republican president-elect Donald Trump during his most recent campaign, isn’t shy about his political beliefs.  According to an article from Marca, Favre referred to the Trump organization as an organization that knows how to win during his rally speech.

“We’ve seen what’s out there, and we know what’s better,”Favre said. “It’s time to make a change and put a leader back in the game who knows how to win.”

Favre most recently took to social media to express his concern for a particular LGBTQ educational activity. The activity Favre was in protest of involved “coming out.” The class or age of the students involved was not specified.

A teacher in Vista Unified School District in California reportedly gave students a “coming out” assignment where they had to act out coming out as LGBTQ.

    Horrible.

I wouldn’t have made it in school today with stuff like this. https://t.co/2igZzDOAdD

Favre is not shy when it comes to expressing his political views on social media. In the weeks following the election, the former gunslinger reposted an X/Twitter post that prayed for the safety of the world until Donald Trump could get into office and “fix it all.”

Praying to God today to keep the world safe until Donald Trump can get into office. He will fix it all

Jesus Christ is on our side, we wouldn’t have any of our strength without him. God Bless America

Reply with “AMEN” if you are praying🙏

The backlash Favre has received for the post pales in comparison to the scandals of Favre’s past. The aforementioned welfare scandal was in 2023, and even that might not compare to the backlash Favre received during his sexting scandal.

As a result, Favre has shown no signs of stopping when it comes to using social media to express political views.
