Green Bay Packers Trade For 9,500-Yard Wide Receiver in Wild Proposal

The Green Bay Packers have done a marvelous job simultaneously constructing a young wide receiver corps with upside around quarterback Jordan Love, as he enters his second season as the starter.

    Green Bay Packers Brian Gutekunst
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst may be making big moves before the start of the 2024 season.

At just 25, Love has already developed into one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL and the Packers receiving corps of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Dontayvion Wicks, along with tight ends Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave are all young and exciting playmakers in the passing game poised to develop alongside him.

General manager Brian Gutekunst and the front office may not be done bolstering Love’s supporting cast.

Could the Green Bay Packers Trade for Amari Cooper?

For as much youthful potential that resides in Green Bay’s receiving corps, if Gutekunst and the Packers are looking to add an established veteran playmaker to tp the depth chart, Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper could be a name to watch.

Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox put together a list of 10 potential trade targets around the league as Week 1 looms, including the Browns possibly shipping Cooper to the Packers.

“Cooper would be a solid get for a contender lacking a proven No. 1 receiver,” Knox writes for B/R. “Like the Green Bay Packers. He’d also be a tremendous addition to a team looking to develop a young quarterback, such as the New England Patriots.”

Entering his 10th NFL season, Cooper not only boasts 9,486 receiving yards with 60 touchdowns but is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five scores as a focal point of the Browns’ offense.

During the 2023 campaign, Cooper dropped five passes and Browns quarterbacks posted an 87.5 passer rating when targeting him, which could make him the ideal reliable playmaker to elevate Love and the Packers’ receiving corps in 2024 and beyond.
