With the conclusion of spring games across the country, including the Georgia football program wrapping up with their inner-squad scrimmage, the transfer portal is beginning to gain new entries. On Monday, a flurry of players will announce their intent to take their talents elsewhere, with one Georgia Bulldogs running back already announcing his intent to part ways with the program. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3Sports, Georgia rusher Andrew Paul will enter the transfer portal.
Alongside Paul, Texas Longhorns offensive lineman Payton Kirkland entered the transfer portal. The six-foot-six, 250-pound lineman owned north of 50 offers out of high school and will have no shortage of suitors.
Andrew Paul: Leaving Georgia Football
Paul, a three-star prospect out of Parish Episcopal High School in Dallas, Texas, held offers from Clemson, Colorado, Auburn, and Michigan before landing with the Georgia Bulldogs in 2022. After a knee injury sidelined him in preseason camp, Paul opted to burn his redshirt season during his inaugural year. The five-foot-eleven, 218-pound rusher earned playing time last season, gaining reps behind fellow rushers Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton.

Paul accumulated 29 carries for 129 yards and one touchdown across his seven games. After a slow start to the season, the Texas native went for 32 yards and a touchdown against the Mississippi Rebels in mid-November. He followed suit with six carries for 16 yards against Tennessee. After a month on the sidelines, he tallied three attempts for 21 yards against Florida State in the Orange Bowl. Paul also caught two passes for 14 yards and a score in 2023.
Georgia Football: RB Depth Chart
Despite Andrew Paul’s departure, the top of the running back depth remains the same for the Georgia football program. The highly-touted rusher and Florida Gators transfer Trevor Etienne will carry the load of the rushing attack next fall. Etienne, the brother of Jacksonville Jaguars star Travis Etienne, rushed for 753 yards and eight scores last season. A dual-threat running back, Etienne also caught 21 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown. He has accumulated 1,710 yards and 15 touchdowns across two college seasons.Meanwhile, Branson Robinson will operate as a change-of-pace back. Robinson rushed 68 times for 330 yards and three scores in 2022. However, he did not play last season due to a knee injury suffered in fall camp.
