Georgia Bulldogs CB Julian Humphrey Enters Transfer Portal
Humphrey battled with Daylen Everette for the CB2 spot and ultimately lost out. This meant that he spent a lot of time on the sidelines. Additionally, a shoulder injury versus Ole Miss caused him to miss some time. However, he played meaningful snaps for the team racking up 11 tackles and four pass breakups in 2023. He had this to say in a statement to On3.
“First and foremost I would like to thank the man above for the countless opportunities that have come to me. I have prayed about this, and asked God to help and led me to the right decision. And after careful consideration, I would be entering the Transfer Portal with 3 years left of eligibility.”
Plenty Of Talent Incoming
The Bulldogs are likely to be in the mix for a national championship against. Having quarterback Carson Beck back will help with continuity on offense. Kirby Smart has shown that he can coach a winning team. The recruiting class is one of the best in the country so while losing players to the portal hurts, there is plenty of talent coming in. It hurts to lose players but this is the nature of college football today.
Can the Georgia Bulldogs reclaim the SEC in 2024? An early season matchup with Alabama will give the winner an inside track for the conference.
