Georgia is just a few days away from opening its season against Clemson in a Top 25 matchup, and the Bulldogs have received some harsh news heading into the contest.
The Bulldogs are known for their running backs and have produced some of the best running backs in college football history. Many of them have had great NFL careers.
One running back who could’ve been on the path to being one of the best running backs in school history, Roderick Robinson, had a nice season in 2023, rushing for 196 yards and two scores in his freshman year.
However, Robinson’s sophomore season has gotten off to a rough start, and he will not see the field this weekend.
Georgia’s Roderick Robinson Underwent Surgery
Smart stated,” Rod’s toe is still an issue for him. Anytime you go into a season, ask what do you have. You really don’t know what you have,”
Robinson was expected to be the number two running back behind Florida transfer Trevor Etienne and could have been the starter in Week One since Etienne’s status is up in the air.
There is a chance that third-sting running back Branson Robinson could start on Saturday after missing all of last year with a knee injury.
It doesn’t t sound like Robinson’s injury will keep him too long, but until he gets back, Georgia will have to find more production from other running backs.
