After a dominant season and a College Football Playoff snub, the FSU football program is in shambles to kickoff 2024.
The days of quarterback Jordan Travis are long gone, and now the Seminoles have former five-star recruit DJ Uiagalelei. The quarterback has been far from perfect for the Seminoles, and just might be the root cause of the struggles this season for Florida State.
Uiagalelei transferred into Tallahassee after spending a very productive season with the Oregon State Beavers. The quarterback ran a much different offense previously, but is no stranger to the type of football the Seminoles want to play. However, the quarterback has not been getting it done for the FSU football team, recording just 666-yards and one touchdown through three games.
The Seminoles have been known to have a high-powered offense that puts points up on the board. Through three games in 2024, however, the FSU football offense has scored just 46-points this season. To put that into perspective, the Seminoles scored 45-points in 2023 against the LSU Tigers defense to open the year.
Many FSU football fans have been calling for freshman backup quarterback Brock Glenn to takeover the starting job. Fans have even been wearing ‘Start Brock Glenn’ pins around campus and at the recent Memphis Tigers loss.
Glenn previously played for Florida State last season and notably started against the Georgia Bulldogs in an epic defeat. The quarterback was not necessarily set up for success, however, and has since missed out on the starting job.
Glenn could earn back the starting spot if Uiagalelei struggles again but likely should have the starting role regardless.
FSU Football Continues to Run DJ Uiagalelei Out as Starting Quarterback
The Seminoles are off to a historically bad start to the 2024 season as FSU football Head Coach Mike Norvell is on the hot seat.
Norvell named transfer DJ Uiagalelei the starting quarterback over Brock Glenn, a fan-favorite freshman who started the bowl game a season ago. Since then, Uiagalelei and the Seminoles have been on an epic downward trend that has seen losses to the Boston College Eagles and the Memphis Tigers. Norvell stressed last season that there was more to the team than quarterback Jordan Travis, but struggles to prove so now.

Despite the recent loss to Memphis in which the Seminoles paid the Tigers $1.4 million to travel, Florida State will send Uiagalelei back onto the field.
Seminoles fans have turned against Uiagalelei after his poor performances and now want Glenn to take the field. While Glenn is primarily unproven, it seems only fair to fans to give the quarterback a shot after the 0-3 start to the season.
