Free Agent Tight End Foster Moreau delivered shocking news Wednesday. Via Twitter, Foster Moreau revealed he has Hodgkin lymphoma and is retiring from the NFL.
The 25-year-old was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma during a physical with the New Orleans Saints. The news is significant because Moreau seemed to be a healthy athlete.

According to the American Cancer Society, Hodgkin lymphoma is a cancer that starts in white blood cells called lymphocytes. The disease affects the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps the body’s immune system fight germs.
Hodgkin lymphoma acts aggressively and can quickly spread through the body. However, like all forms of cancer, it can be treated. The American Cancer Society says the survival rate for patients diagnosed with the disease is about 89 percent.
Moreau played college football at LSU and was the 137th pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Moreau caught 33 passes, recorded 420 receiving yards, and scored 2 touchdowns last season. Moreau played 61 games with the Raiders. For his career Moreau caught 91 passes, recorded 1,107 receiving yards, and scored 12 touchdowns.
