The Florida State football program is doing its best to put last month’s College Football Playoff snub behind them. Per Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports, the Seminoles have landed former top prospect and Alabama Crimson Tide offensive lineman Terrence Ferguson via the transfer portal.

Ferguson entered the portal last week. Alabama has also lost cornerback Kristian Story, defensive lineman Isaiah Hastings, linebacker Kendrick Blackshire, and Malik Benson, among others, to the portal. On Wednesday, the Crismon Tide also received news that longtime head coach and six-time champion Nick Saban will retire.
Terrence Ferguson: Three Years at Alabama Football
Ferguson came to Tuscaloosa in 2021 as a top-ranked four-star recruit, per 247Sports. He played in just one game as a freshman. The six-foot-four, 322-pound offensive lineman appeared in five games as a sophomore, earning 53 snaps. He played three snaps late during the Sugar Bowl against the Kansas State Wildcats. Ferguson made his first career start this season against the USF Bulls. The Crimson Tide accumulated 203 rushing yards during his first starts. Ferguson came off the bench for the remainder of the season, including seeing some action against Ole Miss and Kentucky.
Florida State Football: Continuing to do Work Through the Transfer Portal
The Seminoles have inked Furgeson, Oregon State Beavers edge rusher Sione Lolohea, Miami Hurricanes corner Davonte Brown, and Alabama wide receiver Malik Benson since the start of the week. They also returned linebacker DJ Lundy from the transfer portal. Mike Norvell and the Florida State football program have also snagged Earl Little Jr., Marvin Jones Jr., and Jalen Brown out of the portal. Jones Jr. tallied 5.5 TFLs and 2.0 sacks in two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Florida State has also lost some talent, as most schools do. Offensive tackle Bless Harris and running back Rodney Hill have left Florida State this transfer cycle. Hill had a realistic chance to take a massive step forward next season with the departure of Trey Benson.
