Hill is the 11th cornerback to enter the transfer portal since Thursday. He joins former LSU Tigers top prospect Denver Harris and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets corner KJ Wallace as the most highly sought-after new additions.
Jaydon Hill: Solid Career with Gators
Hill came to Florida as a four-star prospect in the class of 2019, per 247Sports. The Alabama native tallied 11 total tackles and three passes defended as a true freshman. After little production from 2020 to 2021, the six-foot-two corner made 24 tackles in 2022. He recorded his first two interceptions of his college career in an early outing against the Missouri Tigers, picking off quarterback Brady Cook twice.
Hill appeared in 12 games this season, collecting a career-high 29 tackles and four TFLs. He also recovered a fumble and posted four passes defended. His best game of the year came against the LSU Tigers in mid-November, amassing four tackles, one TFL, and a sack. However, the Gators lost 52-35.
Florida Gators: Losing Talent Via Transfer Portal
The Florida Gators and head coach Billy Napier have seen a lot of talent leave through the transfer portal after the conclusion of their season. Star edge rusher Princely Umanmielen entered the portal and will play for the Ole Miss Rebels next season. He posted a ludicrous 11 TFLs and seven sacks this season. The Gators also lost running back Trevor Etienne to the portal. Trevor, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, will play for the Georgia Bulldogs next fall.
Meanwhile, Jaydon Hill is one of many losses for the Florida secondary. Safety Kamari Wilson, among other defensive backs, has darted for the transfer portal. Wilson had 39 tackles as a freshman in 2022 and is a former five-star prospect.
