A Huge Opportunity for Penny this season
Rashaad Penny has looked great anytime that he has been on the field and used as the workhorse RB. His skillset is highly underrated as he can dominate when given the ball appropriately. Over the course of another injury related season, Penny was able to catch fire in the last 3 weeks of the 2021 season. Penny was absolutely stellar in his last 3 performances with the following stat lines:
Week 16 vs. Bears (17 carries/ 135 total yards/ 1 rushing Touchdown)- 19.5 Fantasy Points
Week 17 vs. Lions (25 carries/ 2 catches/ 185 total yards/ 1 rushing Touchdown)- 32.5 Fantasy Points
Week 18 @ Cardinals (23 carries/ 190 total yards/ 1 rushing Touchdown)- 25.0 Fantasy Points
These numbers are quite remarkable considering that Penny has been in and out of the mix dealing with injury year after year. Finally, after being able to prove himself worthy of a productive workload, Penny enters the season as the lead back. However, with the addition of this year’s 2nd Round pick in Ken Walker, Penny will have to continue to shine in order to remain the top dawg in Seattle’s backfield.
Current ADP for Rashaad Penny
Being that Rashaad is the RB 32 currently in ADP, I think he is an absolute steal. The production and glimpses of greatness have proved that he can be valuable. Risking an 8th round pick for a potential breakout running back could play huge dividends for your fantasy team. I expect Ken Walker to be in the mix, but if Penny can continue his onslaught of big games, he will continue to dominate and become a league winner in the fantasy world this year.
