Jalen Milroe is among the many intriguing 2025 NFL draft prospects. Although he’s not widely viewed as the top quarterback in his class, Milroe has qualities that make him interesting enough for some to believe that he’s worthy of a top-three pick.
Former NFL signal-caller Dan Orlovsky even said that if it were up to him, the Alabama Crimson Tide product would make sense as the New York Giants’ first-round selection. The Giants own the No. 3 pick, behind fellow QB-needy teams Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns.
“If I could hand-pick one team for Jalen Milroe, it would be the New York Giants in the second round,” Orlovsky said on NFL Live (h/t Nick Schultz of On3).
“This would be the ideal situation. No. 1, Brian Daboll’s Alabama ties. I remember hearing Nick Saban talk about Jalen Milroe and said, this guy changes the game. I remember Brian Daboll talking about how Nick Saban told him the No. 1 guy he could not stop in college over the past couple years was Jayden Daniels. No. 2, Mel hit it. The impact he had with Josh Allen, but mainly the quarterback run, which gets me to point three – desperation. They’re desperate.”

A part of that quote was shared on social media by ESPN, particularly on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, it triggered plenty of strong reactions from the fans.
“Christ we could have had Cam Ward now we’re settling for the QB Bama fans didn’t even like.”
“Nah we good.”
“That’s about the last place he needs to go.”
“Bum going to a bum franchise lol sounds about right because idk who else wants this scrub”
“So y’all gone sit there n act like we don’t need the skilled positions on offense filled 😮”
“No it won’t it’s another Daniel Jones or worse he is a project he still needs work on passing the ball”
“It won’t matter…Milroe won’t last.🏈”

After finishing with just three wins in 2024 and giving up on Daniel Jones, the Giants decided to sign not one but two veteran free agency quarterbacks, bringing in Super Bowl-winning signal-caller Russell Wilson and former No. 1 pick overall Jameis Winston.
While those moves provide some relief under center for the Giants, neither are long-term options, which is also why many still see New York in play for a QB in the upcoming 2025 NFL draft.
