Yesterday on April 18th the Detroit Lions showed off their new uniforms. Every off-season a couple of NFL teams release uniforms for the upcoming season. Here is what I think about the Lions’ new threads for 2024.

Detroit Lions New Digs
The Detroit Lions are only the second team to release new uniforms for 2024 just behind the New York Jets. Unfortunately, the Lions had to rush their official release video after the new uniforms had been leaked.
The Detroit Lions released three new uniforms yesterday. The first two uniforms the Lions released were their regular home and away jerseys. Their home and away uniforms remain mainly the same, just with a couple of touch-ups. The lettering went from gray to white, and they made a few updates on the sleeves. Overall, I like this change and it just gives them more of a modern look.

The other uniform the Detroit Lions released was very unexpected. It was a blackout uniform with blue lettering along with a blue alternate helmet. This was a huge surprise to me, but it looks incredible. I can’t wait to watch them in these blackout threads on a massive primetime game.
Overall, I think the Detroit Lions made the right move modernizing their previous looks. Even though switching from gray to white looks great I will still miss the all gray uniforms.
Other New NFL Uniforms
This year there have been five teams scheduled to release new uniforms, The Texans, Broncos, Lions, Jets, and Jaguars. All of these teams are set to release their new threads within the coming weeks surrounding the 2024 NFL draft. The Jets released their new uniforms earlier this week which were very similar to their previous ones, but also brought in a new logo.

There have been a couple of teasers and leaks surrounding the Texan’s new uniforms as we have seen a couple of pictures of new uniforms and a leak of a potential alternate helmet. Nothing has been made official though as the Texans are set to unveil all of their new threads next Tuesday, April 23rd.
Similar to the Texans, the Denver Broncos are also set to unveil their new uniforms early next week. The Bronco’s offseason talk about new threads has almost been the exact opposite of the Texans. While the Texans have had pictures and most of their uniforms leaked, the Broncos have been very quiet and are set to unveil their new uniforms on April 22nd.
On the other hand, the Jacksonville Jaguars are only expected to release a throwback uniform for 2024. After 2023 saw many teams use throwbacks, many fans of the Jaguars wanted them to bring back an older jersey as well. There is currently no specific date for when the Jags will release their throwbacks.
