We are just eight days away from the release of EA Sports’ College Football 2025. So far, the team making the game has published many content leaks so fans have a general idea of how the game is taking shape. This article will be focused on what we know about Rutgers in the game through the leaks the developers have given us.
Kyle Monangai Makes College Football 2025 top 100 Players list

Earlier this week, EA Sports released its top 100 players by rating on College Football 2025 and the only Rutgers player to make that list was Kyle Monangai at number 96. He currently stands at a 90 overall. Some fans consider this ranking low because he won the Big Ten rushing crown last year, so they think he should be rated better, especially among the running backs. For now, however, he is considered to be the No.96 player in the game and is the only Rutgers player in the top 100.
That was all we knew from the individual player’s point of view but we do know some things about the team as a whole. EA published a list of the top 25 offenses and the top 25 defenses in the game. The Rutgers offense was unsurprisingly left off of this list but the defense was also left off this list despite posting the No.19 total defense in the nation last year. What is even more surprising is who got in above them. Colorado University, despite coming in at 124th in total team defense, is rated as the 20th-best defense with an 84 overall for an average of the whole defense.
College Football Culture and What’s in the Game for Rutgers
EA has added some culture for specific colleges to make the game feel more accurate to the college football landscape. For example, they have the Clemson players touching an accurate recreation of Howard’s Rock before they run down the hill in their stadium during some of the opening cutscenes for playing at Clemson in the game. They did something similar for Penn State having a recreated video version of their walkout for fans to enjoy in a cutscene before playing the game.
While it is currently unknown whether or not Rutgers will have a custom entrance scene like the examples listed above, we do know of some uniquely Rutgers traditions that will be in the game. We do know that the Chop will be in College Football 2025. For those who do not know, the Chop is a hand motion done by Rutgers fans and coaching staff based on Greg Schiano’s personal mantra by the same name. The mantra is one of hard work, perseverance, and doing your job just like a lumberjack hitting a tree. That’s why it is called the Chop.
The Chop in College Football 2025 will be a hand motion performed in the cutscenes by the fans, the coaches, and possibly even the players but that last one remains unknown. It will also be included in signs held up by fans and things that are similar to that.
Some schools are getting unique chants and stuff for that matter as well. For example, Alabama is getting a Roll Tide chant. It is currently unknown if Rutgers will get anything similar for their chants, such as the R!U! chant.
