Duke Blue Devils Riley Leonard To Enter The Transfer Portal
Leonard’s best year was in 2022 when he threw for almost 3,000 yards and led the team to a bowl game appearance. In his career with the Blue Devils, he has thrown for 4,400 yards and 24 touchdowns. He enters the transfer portal as one of the most coveted quarterbacks in college football. Many wondered whether he would transfer due to head Mike Elko leaving to take the Texas A&M job. He seemed on the fence but ultimately decided to get a change of scenery.
Lots Of Quarterbacks
Leonard is just one of the many quarterbacks that are looking for new homes. Given the price for quarterbacks that Nebraska coach Matt Rhule revealed today, it isn’t surprising that players are looking for a change of scenery. KJ Jefferson, Grayson McCall, and many more are all high-profile quarterbacks who are looking for a new program. Notre Dame and Auburn are two schools to watch out for and the Fighting Irish have already been rumored to land Leonard. Once the portal officially opens it will be interesting to see where everyone lands.
The Duke Blue Devils saw a resurgence under Elko and Riley Leonard. They now will go back to the drawing board as they try to sustain the success of the program.
