Donald Trump has made it clear that he is a big fan of the NFL.  Being the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl was a huge decision.  However, it would appear the NFL isn’t going to heed some of the President’s advice.

According to reports, the NFL is close to implementing a rule change that goes against Trump’s suggestions:

As a big NFL fan, Donald Trump loves to share his thoughts on the product. He’ll sometimes offer his take on possible rule changes and has raved about superstar players like Patrick Mahomes and Saquon Barkley.

Since the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season, there has been debate about possibly banning the Philadelphia Eagles’ signature “tush push” play. Asked for his take last month, Donald Trump said, “I wouldn’t ban it.”

But on the latest episode of “Scoop City”, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported that the tush push ban is “gaining more momentum.” The Green Bay Packers, whom Philly defeated in the Wild Card Round, initially proposed banning the “tush push.”

“I feel like it’s getting more momentum in terms of those opposed to it than I’ve ever heard before,” Russini said.

As far back as 2022, the Eagles have executed this play nearly to perfection with Jalen Hurts. In Super Bowl 59, the MVP opened the scoring with a tush push touchdown, leading to a rout.

If the NFL bans the tush push, don’t be surprised if President Trump goes on another social media rant.  He isn’t afraid of making his opinion known.
