Donald Trump has made his stance very clear on Transgender athletes just a few months into his Presidency.  The 78-year-old President has banned trans athletes from all college sports.  A decision that came with emotional opinions on both sides.

However, one professional athlete is publicly scrutinizing his decision.

A controversial person by nature, Megan Rapinoe is not stopping now. In response to former President Donald Trump’s recent executive order banning transgender athletes from college sports, the former USWNT star and World Cup winner has once again taken aim at him:

In a candid interview with soccer outlet MUNDIAL, Rapinoe blasted Trump’s move as “cruel and depraved,” making it clear that while he can issue executive orders, he can’t erase transgender people from existence.

“If you strip it all back, it’s just kind of cruel and depraved,” Rapinoe said. “This isn’t an issue, and you aren’t going to be able to Executive Order trans people out of existence.”

A longtime advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, Rapinoe has been vocal about her disdain for Trump for years. She has consistently used her platform to fight for equal rights, especially in sports, where she believes transgender athletes deserve inclusion rather than exclusion.

Rapinoe also pointed out the broader struggle for equality in women’s sports. “We’ve just gone through a very long period, over ten years, of really needing to fight just to get to a baseline of, like, equal rights and non-discriminatory behavior,” she said. “And when people stop just (expletive) on women’s sports. I think we are sort of at that moment.”

Fans were quick to react to this news:

“Sticking it to the man” aye no bother 🤣

First off Megan Rapinoe and the US women’s soccer team lost to a team of 15 year old boys. Not a champion team. Just a team of regular boys.

Second, “trans athletes” aren’t banned. Compete in men’s.

Third, Megan, I welcome a debate with you on the subject. Lets make it happen. pic.twitter.com/zv7vIxJbx5

No one cares what Rapinoe says at this point. Her fame has peaked.

Somebody literally just needs to go “Lady Ballers” and field a team of men.
