Deebo Samuel, wide receiver for the Washington Commanders, was recently poked fun at for his weight gain by none other than retired NFL legend Terrell Owens. In a video shared by X user ‘Coach Yac’, Owens goes on a rant on Samuel’s increased weight, which was pretty evident during the training camps, but also ends on a positive note that no matter what the newly signed Commanders wide-out weighed, Owens still loved him.

Samuel’s weight gain has not only grabbed the attention of Terrell Owens but numerous other NFL pundits, who feel that the extra pounds will deplete his performance in the upcoming football season. The wide receiver will be seen in action with the Commanders for the first time this season after signing a one-year deal with them for a sum of $17 million.

“He’s going to do his thing. He is fat. He ain’t big boned. That’s what you say when girls are mad. That’s the term you use when you don’t wanna call a girl fat. We say they’re big boned. He’s about two chicken nuggets from tipping the scale. Deebo’s my guy though. I love Deebo. Deebo and I had a conversation. He knows what the deal is.” Terrell Owens says about Deebo Samuel in the video shared by Coach Yac on X.

    Terrell Owens on Deebo Samuel:

“He is fat. He ain’t big boned… He about two chicken nuggets from tipping the scale. Deebo’s my guy tho. I love Deebo.” 😂

All jokes aside, I hope Deebo tears it up for Washington. I’m pulling for them to win their division

Deebo Samuel last year played for the San Francisco 49ers but will have even more responsibility on his shoulders in this football season, as he and the rest of the Washington roster try to reclaim the team’s glory. In the 2024 NFL season, the Commanders were truly unimpressive and made several crucial offseason changes, to better accommodate their starting quarterback, Jayden Daniels.

Deebo Samuel Is An Essential Addition To Commanders’ Locker Room

While the deal that Deebo Samuel signed with the Washington Commanders is just for one year, the wide receiver is already being hailed as one of the best decisions that the team has undertaken in this NFL offseason. Samuel’s presence will definitely boost the team’s offense, especially with Jayden Daniels as starting quarterback.

According to renowned sports journalist Mina Kimes, Samuel is the solution for Washington’s poor performance in terms of yards-after-catch stats. The Commanders were one of the weakest teams in the league in this category. However, Samuels has proven himself in the past to generate plenty of power in short throws, something that Washington fans will highly look forward to.
