The hate and accusations around President Donald Trump and his take on Black communities are founded on nothing but “Trump derangement syndrome,” as one Republican supporter pointed out in Stephen A. Smith’s recent podcast.
In one of the recent episodes of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” guest Officer Tatum talked about comedian DL Hughley’s statement criticizing NFL star Saquon Barkley meeting Donald Trump at the White House, and accusations of Trump “erasing black history.”
“Why is D.L. Hugley, who claimed to be a pro black man, hating and talking down on another brother?” Tatum said criticism of Saquon Barkley. “Just because you decide to love a woman who happens not to be black, doesn’t mean you’re a sellout, and you don’t understand the black struggle. What’s the problem with that?”
D.L. Hugley recently took issue with Saquon Barkley’s attendance at a White House visit with Donald Trump following the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl victory. Hughley contended that Black athletes who accept such invitations show a lack of concern for Black issues. He specifically criticized Barkley, suggesting the athlete is out of touch with the challenges faced by the Black community.
“DL Hughley bothers me so much because I just don’t like what he says about black people, generally speaking.”
“I think it’s absolutely asinine to suggest that Donald Trump is trying to erase black history,” Officer Tatum added, talking about DL Hughley’s claims of Trump “erasing black history.”
“That’s the craziest thing ever. DL Hughley don’t have any evidence whatsoever to make a claim like that other than having Trump derangement syndrome.”
“Donald Trump, in his first term, he gave permanent funding to HBCUs (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). Donald Trump literally had every HBCU president in the Oval Office talking about things that they can do to improve black universities. You can go down the list and all the things that he’s done that help black in the black community.”

Donald Trump Snubbed by Select Eagles on White House Visit
The Philadelphia Eagles visited President Donald Trump at the White House earlier this week to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory, but the event was marked by the absence of several key players.

Despite the invitation, several Eagles players, including Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown, and DeVonta Smith, opted out of the visit, citing scheduling conflicts or personal reasons. Hurts, the Super Bowl MVP, notably avoided answering questions about his attendance when asked days before the event. Meanwhile, Saquon Barkley, who had spent time golfing with Trump the day before, attended the ceremony and defended his decision to join despite criticism.

Throughout the event, Donald Trump commended the Eagles for their resilience and success, emphasizing the importance of the White House tradition.
