The New York Giants will have the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night. Many fans are wondering what general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll will have in store.
Many fans are also wondering if owner John Mara will meddle in the draft plans on Thursday night. One potential name that the Giants could potentially draft is Penn State Nittany Lions edge rusher Abdul Carter. Some Giants fans hope that he doesn’t get drafted second overall by the Cleveland Browns.
New York Giants Fans Want the Team To Draft Abdul Carter

If New York does draft Carter, it would make the defensive front very scary. Having him, Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, and Kayvon Thibodeaux would be a dream for this defensive front. Carter is 6’3″ and weighs 259 lbs.
He recorded 68 tackles, 12 sacks, four pass deflections, and also had two forced fumbles with Penn State during the 2024 college football season. Carter going to the Giants would be a franchise changing moment for them. If he goes before three, that would be out of there control.
Another thing to watch for other than drafting Carter is the Giants potentially moving back into the first-round to draft either quarterback Jaxson Dart, Shedeur Sanders, or Jalen Milroe. It will be interesting to see what Schoen has in store for this franchise and Giants fans will be devasted if they pass up on Carter third overall if available.
