The Florida State Seminoles have had a tough time playing on the field, and also a tough time securing big time recruits this year.
The Seminoles are in the midst of an awful, record breaking season that quite frankly the majority of the team and staff just want to end. However, the last effects might already be there as former Seminoles players have been telling recruits to avoid the school. While it had previously been a rumor, it has now been confirmed that receiving leader Keon Coleman is one such individual.

Originally, Coleman was named as someone who was reportedly telling recruits to not attend the program. However, it has now been confirmed by a 247 Sports source, Brendan Sonnone, that Coleman was in fact telling recruits to not commit to the Florida State Seminoles program.
According to Sonnone, Coleman was telling recruits that “Michigan State developed the skills” that he needed to succeed in the NFL. Coleman stated that the Seminoles did not “provide” him with the development and knowledge he needed to be ready for the next level. Rather, the wide receiver felt he did not learn anything new during his time with the Florida State Seminoles.

Making the comments are one thing, but Coleman has apparently reached out to recruits and gone out of his way to prevent individuals from joining the program. The exact reasoning as to why Coleman has felt the need to do so is unclear, but it has reportedly had an impact on the recruiting process for the Seminoles. Coleman is one of the most successful recent players to leave the program and enter the NFL, and has a respected opinion among individuals looking at the university.
What Can the Florida State Seminoles Salvage out of the 2024 Season?

With just a handful of games left there is not much the Florida State Seminoles can really do to turn the season into a positive, but the team can at least look competitive down the stretch.
It is one thing if a team is enduring plenty of stretches of bad luck, but it is another when the result on the field is forcing people to leave the game. The Florida State Seminoles staff has struggled to make an impact on the field, and while it has not had a major recruiting effect yet, it very well could. Therefore the remainder of the season should be damage management for the team.
There are not enough games for the Seminoles to either make a bowl game or put together a solid season, but there are enough games to change the narrative on offense.
If the Florida State Seminoles can put together three solid offensive showings to finish the season, it would at least leave the team with something to build upon. If the disaster only continues to grow, there really is not much for the team to takeaway from this season. The Seminoles have struggled at every corner and leaving the season on a positive note is crucial moving forward.
Whether the Florida State Seminoles clean house or not, winning a couple games to end the season would a good thing for both the team and the fans.
