The Detroit Lions receiving core will be shorthanded against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. will be unavailable for the Lions on Sunday as the former 1,000-yard wideout deals with personal issues.

The severity and extent of the personal issues are unknown, but whatever Jones is dealing with, it will sideline him for at least one week. Jones has played in all six games this season, starting four and catching five passes for 35 yards. The veteran signed a one-year, $3 million contract with Detriot this offseason.
Marvin Jones Jr.: Wide Receiver’s Second Stint with the Detroit Lions
Marvin Jones Jr. spent five seasons in the Motor City from 2016 to 2020, accumulating 289 receptions and 4,296 receiving yards and 36 scores. His best season came in 2017 when he hauled 61 receptions for 1,101 yards and nine receptions. He led the NFL in yards per reception at 18.0.
Jones spent the previous two seasons with Jacksonville, snagging seven touchdowns before rejoining the Lions this offseason. However, he has played a minor role during his age 33 season. The 12-year pro has seen little involvement when the other Detroit pass catchers are healthy, averaging just 5.8 receiving yards per game.
Detroit Lions: Receiving Core for Week 7
The Lions receiving core will be at full strength on Sunday minus Marvin Jones Jr. Star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown, who has already missed one game this season with a foot issue, is not on the injury report heading into his team’s Week 7 clash.
Additionally, tight end Sam LaPorta has dropped his injury designation and is good to go on Sunday. Detroit also recently got former first-round pick Jameson Williams back from suspension.
