Former Detroit Lions cornerback Cam Sutton was formally charged with Domestic Battery.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Sutton appeared in a Florida court and was released on his own recognizance.
Cameron Sutton, who was cut by the Lions last week after Florida police announced they were looking for him due to a domestic violence case, was formally charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery today.

An arrest warrant for Sutton was first released on March 7, listing a felony count of domestic battery by strangulation. A female placed a call with injuries consistent with the assault claimed.
Hillsborough County sheriff’s office then released the warrant on social media on March 20th, sparking interest in the public.
According to NBS Sports, the Lions released Sutton on March 21st and voided his $10.5 million guaranteed salary for 2024, something Sutton and his agent will surely fight in addition to his legal fight against the domestic battery charge.
Yesterday, Sutton turned himself into the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office has taken Cameron Sutton, 29, into custody after he was wanted for Domestic Battery by Strangulation.
