The moment the Denver Broncos have decided to move forward without Russell Wilson, everyone understood that they would be trying to find their franchise QB through the NFL Draft.
The 2024 class has plenty of talented quarterbacks they can rely on to build their team. The depth of talent in this year’s draft class is enough to make scouts and fans excited about the potential of the incoming class.
One analyst who has covered the Broncos for years is suggesting a dream scenario where the Broncos finally find their franchise QB that can take them back to the Super Bowl.
Analyst wants Denver Broncos to draft Drake Maye and Luke McCaffrey as their core rookie duo
Seasoned Broncos journalist Andrew Mason wrote about the players he believes the Broncos should get during the first two rounds of the NFL Draft. However, he also understands that getting at least one of them is more of a pipe dream than a possible reality:
I’m convinced Drake Maye running the offense would blossom into a beautiful thing. Alas, it will almost certainly have to be just a dream. https://t.co/8oM0rY8qHr

He made this suggestion after making a wild draft pick where the Denver Broncos would be trading up to the third overall pick:
Traded up and then had a draft of what Mike Westhoff would call “my guys”. (Also, no way that it only takes this to move up from 12 to 3 in real life.) pic.twitter.com/8hASMzNB4D

Are Drake Maye and Luke McCaffrey worth it for the Denver Broncos?
It’s understandable why Maye is a worthwhile selection for the Broncos to take if they have the chance pick third in the 2024 draft.
The North Carolina product has played incredible football over the past two seasons. In his final year as a Tar Heel, he passed for 3608 yards and 24 touchdowns. He’s shown that he has the ability to stand out in any NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, Luke McCaffrey has shown that he has the potential to be a great playmaker like his brother. In his final season at Rice, he caught 992 yards and 13 TDs. He also ran the ball for 117 yards on 7.8 yards per carry.
While it’s a pipe dream for the Broncos to get Maye, it would be an intriguing situation if they somehow manage to convince the New England Patriots to trade down.
