The more news about Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos situation surfaces, the more it becomes clear to every party involved that Mr. Unlimited’s time at the Empower Field at Mile High is quickly reaching its limit.
The deterioration of Wilson’s relationship with Sean Payton is one of the major reasons for his imminent Denver exit, but the question remains on when he will be shipped out of the organization. A recent report provided an answer that aims to ease the doubts of many Broncos fans.

Analyst: Denver Broncos will do away with Russell Wilson before 2024 season starts
ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler recently published a comprehensive analysis of every NFL team after the 2023 season, and his analysis on the Denver Broncos doesn’t paint them in a good light:
The Russell Wilson saga promises to be popcorn-chomping entertainment. Sure, the Broncos can keep him in the fold for 2024, knowing the quarterback room will be awkward after last year’s benching. Virtually no one around the league expects this, since it would lock in $37 million in 2025 guarantees. Or, they can pay him $37 million of 2024 guarantees to go away, knowing offsets will be minimal with prospective teams leveraging Denver’s guaranteed money against him.
It wasn’t like Russell Wilson was a terrible quarterback by any means. Before he was shelved in the final two games of the 2023 NFL season, he completed 66% of his pass attempts for 3070 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions.
However, his play style was a terrible fit for how Sean Payton wanted his offense to operate. The fact that DangeRuss was benched at the tail end of the season provides enough clues to fans that they’ll probably get a new QB under center for 2024.

There are plenty of spicy takes on which QB will take over Wilson’s spot under center. However, these takes will remain as hunches until the organization itself finally decides to pull the trigger on a trade.
