Can the Denver Broncos get back on track in 2024?
Following an absolute whirlwind of an off-season, which included dumping Russell Wilson despite owing him nearly $40 million, as well as sending former first-round pick, wideout, Jerry Jeudy to the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos find themselves with more questions than answers heading into the 2024 NFL Draft.
In CBS Sports’ latest draft projections, the Broncos will be waiting on their next signal-caller, as the club would be selecting Georgia tight end and offensive weapon, Brock Bowers.
“The first tight end taken off the board, Bowers caught a whopping 26 touchdowns in three seasons at Georgia.”
Denver Broncos’ Turbulent 2024 Off-Season
Rewind back less than three years ago, Russell Wilson signed a five-year, $242 million deal with the club following the trade between Denver and Wilson’s longtime home, the Seattle Seahawks following the 2021 season. The Broncos decided to part ways with the potential future Hall of Famer, earlier this off-season, despite owing Wilson nearly $40 million.
Just days following his release, Wilson signed a one-year, veteran minimum deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. While Wilson will reportedly be the starter in the ‘Steel City,’ following the club trading former first-round pick, Kenny Pickett to the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver will still be paying Wilson $39 million to not play for them in 2024.
