The Denver Broncos appeared to have their quarterback of the future in the form of Bo Nix. In his rookie NFL season, the former Oregon Ducks star shined under center for the Ducks, passing for 3,775 yards and 29 touchdowns against only 12 interceptions on a 66.3 percent completion rate.
And Nix could make a jump in 2025, with a new target downfield for him. The Broncos, who didn’t have much to show from the tight end position in the passing attack signed veteran tight end Evan Engram to a two-year deal worth $23 million last March.
A major reason why Engram decided to take his talents to Denver was Nix, whom he praised generously recently (h/t a DNVR’s Bennie Fowler).
““He has everything that it takes to be great in this league,” Engram stated. “The biggest thing that stood out to me was his presence in the pocket. He’s very calm, very collected. When the pocket does breakdown, the plays he can make on his feet while having his eyes downfield is something that you have to continue to put great talent around because that is a weapon. That is a true weapon.”
Could Engram help unlock further Denver Broncos QB’s NFL potential?

Engram could turn things around and recover his Pro Bowl form in a new environment after playing in only nine games and tallying just 365 receiving yards and a touchdown on 47 receptions with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2024.
He could be just what the Broncos need, as their most productive tight end that season was Lucas Krull, who only had 152 receiving yards on 19 receptions and 23 targets.
