New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been trying his best to suit up in Buffalo this week. However, the neck injury proved too much, as Jones was officially ruled OUT for Sunday night’s contest. Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed the news on Friday. It will be his first injury absence since the 2021 regular season.

Who is Stepping in for Daniel Jones?
Tyrod Taylor will step in for Jones on Sunday Night Football. Taylor gets a crack at one of his many former teams when he takes on the Buffalo Bills. He has been in the league since 2011, so experience shouldn’t be an issue.
The Giants have struggled all season, so Tyrod Taylor has already checked into three of their games. He’s 11-15 for 92 passing yards this season. Last week, he racked up most of that, going 9-12 for 86 after Jones departed the contest. Taylor is also mobile and has 16 rushing yards on four carries.
One issue with Taylor is that he’s found ways to get banged up often. In last week’s loss, Taylor came up hobbled after a rushing play. Last year, Tyrod Taylor spelled Daniel Jones and quickly suffered a concussion. If he were to unfortunately go down again, rookie Tommy DeVito will make his NFL debut on Sunday.
Exploring the New York Giants’ Offensive Struggles
This group is only scoring 12.4 points per game (31st) and only exceeded the 20-point mark once. New York’s offensive line has been arguably the NFL’s worst, which is the foundation of their struggles. With three linemen out this weekend (two starters), two more questionable, and almost every option an underwhelming one, things likely won’t change this weekend. Buffalo has a ferocious defensive front.
The Giants are the most sacked team in the league entering Week 6. Daniel Jones was brought down 28 times, Tyrod Taylor once, and wide receiver Parris Campbell was the other. New York’s pass protection has been ugly, to say the least. Without much push in the running game, the Giants are dropping back more than they want to anyway. Sunday night may be a game of survival for Big Blue, especially under center.
