Dan Lanning is the gift that keeps on giving. The third-year head coach has become one of the best in the sport after taking Oregon to an undefeated regular season.
The Ducks are currently the number one seed in the college football playoffs. If they beat Penn State in the Big Ten title game this weekend, they will lock in the first seed, giving them a first-round Bye.
Dan Lanning Is The College Football Coach Every Team Wants
Oregon is the favorite among many sportsbooks to win the national championship, and much of that has to do with how Lanning has turned his team into a bunch of stars.
The 38-year-old head coach has always had a great edge, and he showed it last year when Colorado walked into Eugene and Oregon destroyed them.
Now the Ducks got some much-needed revenge against one of their biggest rivals, Washington, who beat them twice last season, ending any chance of making the playoffs.
On Saturday, the Huskies walked into Autzen Stadium, and while the Ducks were taking care of business all night long, Lanning made sure they wouldn’t stop at halftime. Usually, when a team is destroying their opponent at the half, the head coach sometimes takes it easy, but not Lanning because a viral video showed him smashing a Washington helmet, getting his team all fired up.

This is why everyone in college football loves Lanning and why Alabama and Texas A&M wanted him to be their head coach last offseason.
Lanning is always finding new ways to get his team ready to roll. This is a coach who will one day bring home a college football title, and with the way this season is going, it might happen in the next month and a half.
