Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Guyton was often flagged in the 20-15 win for the Cowboys over the Giants. It was not a clean performance for Dallas by any means in this matchup. One of the biggest stories in this game other than Dallas’s penalties is the NFL officiating.
It seems as if every single week, horrendous penalties calls, and the refs are being questioned by the fans. New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys fans were unhappy with the refs on Thursday night.
Dallas Cowboys Offensive Lineman Tyler Guyton Calls Out Referees After New York Giants Win
Despite the Cowboys beating the Giants on Thursday night, Dallas committed 11 penalties for 89 yards and New York only committed four penalties for 35 yards. Despite that, there were missed calls. The Giants were called for a 15-yard penalty in the game in the first quarter on a Daniel Bellinger facemask, but he never committed the penalty and it was a Dallas player who did it instead.
When Dak Prescott threw a screen pass in the first quarter to Rico Dowdle, he took it 15 yards for a touchdown. The refs threw a flag on the play. There was a clear holding penalty on Dallas, but the refs picked it up and the Giants fanbase and Brian Daboll were angry about it.
When heading to the locker room after the game, Tyler Guyton said:
“the NFL needs better refs! Please!”
He is not wrong by any means. Even though they won the game, Guyton is correct and could feel upset about it so it doesn’t affect them later on in the season.

He was getting beat all game, and if anything, the 2 biggest and most obvious calls went against the Giants

He’s not wrong! Even Al Michaels was talking about how over-officiated this game was. NEITHER team could get into a rhythm because every 3rd or 4th play got called back ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

Someone tell the kid it’s his 4th nfl game and yeah some balls were bad and the game was over officiated, but he needs to hit the film room and weight room. Lot of work needs to be done

It will be interesting to see how much of a storyline the refs are in Week 4 for the rest of the NFL. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Tyler Guyton fined by the NFL for his comments about the refs against the New York Giants.
