After posting a spectacular 2023 regular-season record, the Dallas Cowboys fell apart in the postseason, suffering a brutal 48-32 home loss to the Green Bay Packers during Super Wild Card Weekend. Dallas’ defense struggled mightily against Green Bay’s aerial attack, with opposing quarterback Jordan Love going 16-of-21 for 272 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, running back Aaron Jones rushed 21 times for 118 yards and three scores.
The Cowboys got little from their defensive star, Micah Parsons, in a losing effort. Parson finished with just one tackle and no sacks, while the Packers tallied 415 total yards. The Penn State product has been vocal about his frustrations in recent memory, but contemporary reports suggest the edge rushers’ behavior has “worn thin” on the organization.
Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parson: Behavior Becoming an Issue Within Organization
Shan Shariff, the host of the radio show Shan & RJ on 105.3 The FAN, took to the airwaves on Friday, suggesting the Dallas Cowboys brass is at wit’s end with the behavior presented by superstar defender Micah Parsons. Shariff did not hold back when discussing the state of the former Defensive Rookie of the Year Award winner.
When asked about Parson’s trade value if Dallas opted for a rebuild, Shariff said, “I’ve heard from way too many people this offseason. I’m talking about at least four different people (who have told me) that Micah has worn thin there.”
Shariff continued, “I don’t know how much is true and how much it actually hurts (his reputation). I don’t know whether this is the behavior of a typical superstar. I don’t know how damaging it is. But all I do know is this—I’ve heard from way too many people that if Micah Parsons was out of there, there would be a decent amount of people inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco smiling or breathing a sigh of relief.”
Micah Parsons: Stellar 2023 Campaign
Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parson had another stellar season in 2023. The two-time first-team All-Pro registered a career-best 14 sacks on 64 tackles and 18 TFLs. However, despite finishing third in Defensive Player of the Year voting, the Penn State product did not make the first-team All-Pro team. Instead, Parson made the second team, giving way to Pittsburgh Steelers megastar T.J. Watt.
Despite the success, Parsons received criticism this season for his off-the-field behavior. Parsons did not make himself available following his team’s playoff loss, much to the media’s dismay. Additionally, former Cowboys wideout Jesse Holley took aim at Parsons earlier this offseason, calling him the “most selfish player” on the team.
