The Dallas Cowboys will open the 2024 NFL regular season on the road against the Cleveland Browns. Dallas last season was the number two seed in the NFC with a 12-5 record but lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round. The Cowboys will be Super Bowl or bust this season.

Dallas caught some breaks in the schedule for this season. Head coach Mike McCarthy could be on the hot seat this year. What are some of the other games to watch for on the Dallas Cowboys schedule this season?

September 22 At Home Against the Baltimore Ravens Could Be a Make-It-Or-Break-It Game For the Dallas Cowboys

Dallas will host a very talented Baltimore Ravens NFL team in Week 3. With facing the Cleveland Browns on the road and the New Orleans Saints in Week 2, those will be two very good defenses that they face back-to-back. Baltimore will be another tough defense that the Dallas Cowboys will face.

If Dallas is 0-2, this would be a tough draw because the Ravens also had a very good defense a season ago. Baltimore is also a Super Bowl-talented team. A lot of blame would go around if the Dallas Cowboys were 0-3 after this game.

    October 13 vs Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown throws a ceremonial first pitch before the game between the Detroit Tigers and Houston Astros at Comerica Park in Detroit on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

A season ago, the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys met late in the season with the Cowboys winning that game over the Lions. Many people thought that Detroit was hosed by the refs in that game after losing at Dallas. This could be a game that if both teams are very good, it will be a game where it comes down to tiebreakers for potential seedings.

At the moment, the Lions have a better quarterback in Jared Goff compared to Dak Prescott. Detroit also has a better roster than Dallas. The Detroit Lions did way more in the offseason to improve the team than the Dallas Cowboys did.

October 27 at San Francisco 49ers

After the bye week, Dallas will travel to San Francisco. This is a brutal draw for the Cowboys. They can never seem to beat the San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco could be the best team in the NFC during the regular season. It might also be their last chance to get to a Super Bowl because of how old they are getting.

The 49ers are more physical than the Cowboys are. This is another game that Dallas will need to prove themselves and they probably won’t. This is an old-time rivalry that has been dominated by one side over the last few seasons.
