The Dallas Cowboys snuck out of AT&T Stadium with a win over the Detroit Lions on Saturday Night.  The win was certainly one of the more controversial ones of recent memory.  The Lions were in position to win after a two-point conversion with 23 seconds left to go in the game.

However, a late (and very controversial) penalty wiped out the conversion.  The Cowboys would go on to win 20-19.  After the game, Dak Prescott had to get something off his chest.

During the final minutes of the game, Dak Prescottd fell on the sword after a bizarre passing call on 2nd-and-long:

That’s on me honestly.  Other options right there.  Brandin had the right route, ran the right route in what was played.  They brought zero.   I’ve got to do a better job on that one. That’s where we were talking about the roller coaster of emotions.

That’s one where I put our team in that situation throwing that ball there.  That’s one I promise you that will keep me up at night, tonight for sure.  I’ll have to flush that thought.  The defense ultimately saved me.  That’s probably why I was so anxious to get back on the field with 20 seconds and redeem myself and get another opportunity.

That’s the point about the being a complementary win and us doing it together.  That wasn’t the smartest of best play by me and obviously, the defense helped me out.

This Win Was Huge For The Cowboys

The win improved the Cowboys’ record to 11-5 on the year and kept pace with the Philadelphia Eagles (also 11-5),  The Eagles are playing the Arizona Cardinals this week.  Dallas will need the Eagles to lose one of their final two remaining games to have an opportunity to win the NFC East via a tiebreaker.

Dallas has been very good at home this year (undefeated actually).  On the road they are 3-5.  Having as much home field advantage in the playoffs will be absolutely massive for this Dallas team.
