The Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders have been busy this offseason. Washington ended up hiring new personnel such as head coach Dan Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury. Dallas has been busy with multiple interviews to find Quinn’s replacement at defensive coordinator. However, the Cowboys do not want to have to give the Commanders another member of their coaching staff.
Dallas Cowboys Block Interview Request for Lunda Wells
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys blocked an interview request from the Washington Commanders. Apparently, Washington wanted to interview Dallas Cowboys TE coach Lunda Wells. The idea was to make him the offensive line coach for the Commanders. However, the Cowboys are not going to allow that to happen.
Washington Commanders Moving Forward
It makes sense why the Commanders want to upgrade the coaching staff when it comes to the offensive line. This is something Washington struggled mightily with last season. The Commanders allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL this past season. However, Washington will have to find another way to address this before the 2024 NFL season begins.
