Dallas Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons has been mentioned in the offseason news for a lot of reasons. Sources within the Dallas Cowboys organization told Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan, that Parsons’ antics have “worn thin” by some.
Shariff said on Friday:
“I’ve heard from way too many people this offseason. I’m talking about at least four different people [have told me] that Micah has worn thin there.”
What is silly about this noise is that Parsons will not be a free agent until after the 2025 season. He is 24 years old and is entering the prime of his NFL career. It’s hard to believe that the Cowboys would not give him a contract extension, but this is a Jerry Jones-owned football team after all, and is often a circus.
Last season, Parsons recorded 64 tackles, 14 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and two pass deflections. He is one of the most talented defensive players in the NFL and is also a game-changer.
One of the things that Parsons does is have a podcast, but that should be the least of the Cowboys’ concerns. If Dallas was silly enough to trade him in the first place, which teams could possibly trade for him?
Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys Is From Harrisburg, Pennslyvania, So a Trade With the Pittsburgh Steelers Is More Likely Than the Philadelphia Eagles
Parsons played college football at Penn State. There is no way Dallas would trade him to the arch-rivals of the Eagles. If they want to grant his wish to go back to his home state, that’s fine. The Steelers are better off because it is out of the NFC and in the AFC.
Pittsburgh is known for its defense. Imagine a defense with Micah Parsons and T.J. Watt. That would be an unblockable duo.
Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore, Maryland is only an hour and a half drive from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. It would not be in the state of Pennslyvania, but being in the state of Maryland would be reasonable enough for Micah Parsons. Parsons would become a star immediately with the likes of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Terrell Suggs.
The Ravens are a Super Bowl contender in the AFC because of Lamar Jackson at quarterback. However, Baltimore does need some more help with the pass rush.
Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions need more help on defense. A tandem of Aidan Hutchinson and Micah Parsons in a wide-open NFC would put them over the top. Detroit needs pass-rushing help to contain Jordan Love, Caleb Williams, and whoever the Minnesota Vikings start next season and beyond.
The Lions and the Dallas Cowboys as a trade partner would be very interesting. Detroit will be in contention for a while.
