The Dallas front office announces major roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Bengals. Week 1 saw the Cowboys get humiliated on prime-time TV against the Bucs. In addition to the defeat on the field, the team suffered another devastating loss with QB, Dak Prescott suffering an injury that will keep him sidelined for, at least, the next month. Dallas now has to reshuffle the roster ahead of the Bengals matchup.
Todd Archer reports that the Cowboys have officially signed QB, Cooper Rush and K, Brett Maher to the 53 man roster. In addition to these roster moves, Dallas placed Tarrell Bashman on IR and waved John Ridgeway. Will Grier and Alec Windstorm recieved promotions from the practice squad.
All eyes will be on the desperate Cowboys Sunday as their backup QB, Cooper Rush, 28, takes the field as QB1. Rush won his lone start last year against the Vikings in an inspiring effort. Rush, undrafted out of Central Michigan in 2017, has found a nice spot on the Dallas roster as their backup QB. Cooper has had 5 appearances for the Cowboys while completing 64% of his passes and accounting for 422 yards, 3 touchdowns, and an interception.
Rush will be in a difficult situation against the defending AFC champ, Bengals, who are also 0-1. The Bengals are 7.5 point favorites at Dallas.
