Over the years, Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Dak Prescott has received a ton of hate from the media and fans. Even now, with the team sitting at 9-3 and looking like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, fans and the media are pushing for Dallas to move on and find a new starting quarterback. That hate is coming in the middle of what could very well be an MVP-winning season.
Despite all of the hate he has received since becoming the Cowboys’ starter, Prescott has not let anything worry him. He has remained focused, confident, and has kept his team winning football games.
After pulling off a huge Week 13 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, things could not be going better for Prescott and the Cowboys. Jerry Jones has to be happy with his franchise quarterback and all the support he has thrown behind him.
Dak Prescott Sends Bold Message To His Critics After Week 13 Win
Following the Cowboys’ win over the Seahawks, Dak Prescott took the moment to send a bold message to his critics. It was clear that he was making the message very pointed.
“I have the pen; I have the paper; and I am the one writing. Because I am playing as well as I am now, it doesn’t mean I am going to stop or listen to them now. I appreciate them, but I don’t care about their opinions right now anymore than I did when they were calling for my spot. As I said, I am blessed, this last year has been a reflection of that. A lot of great things have happened in my life and are going to continue to happen in my life because of my mindset and where I put the value of life.”
So far this season, Prescott has done nothing to warrant the hate that he has received. In fact, he should be being praised for the production that he has put up for the Cowboys.
In 12 games played, Dak Prescott has completed an impressive 70.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,234 yards, 26 touchdowns, and just six interceptions. He has also picked up 174 yards and another two scores on the ground. Those numbers are more than deserving of legitimate MVP consideration.
With all of that being said, there’s no question that the Cowboys should keep Prescott around long-term. Even with the hate he has received, he has continued producing at an elite level. He has shown no signs of slowing down either.
It will be interesting to see how far Prescott can take the Cowboys this season. They have a defense more than capable of stepping up and making plays and the offense is loaded with talent. CeeDee Lamb has progressed into an elite caliber No. 1 target for Dak Prescott.
Looking back at the season, Prescott has really only had one bad game. That performance came against the San Francisco 49ers in a brutal 42-10 loss. He threw three interceptions in that game.
One would hope that the criticism and hate for Prescott will cease after the season he has been putting forward. The Cowboys seem to be very committed to him long-term and hopefully the fans and media will follow suit. If not, they’re in for a major disappointment, as it seems highly unlikely that the Cowboys will be making any quarterback change anytime soon.
Next up for Dak Prescott and the Cowboys will be a tough Week 14 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football. It will be another opportunity for him to make his haters eat their words.
