Ohio State Buckeyes freshman wide receiver Jeremiah Smith is one of the most talented freshmen in college football this season. He played a huge role in the first-round win for the Buckeyes against the Tennessee Volunteers.

The Buckeyes season is not even over yet as they prepare to face the #1 Oregon Ducks in the Rose Bowl. The winner of that game will either face the #5 Texas Longhorns or the #4 Arizona State Sun Devils in the college football playoffs semifinals.

Max Chadwick of Pro Football Focus is already looking forward to Smith’s sophomore season in college football as a wide receiver. Chadwick said:

“He’s the best wide receiver heading into next season and it’s not even close.”

This is a very bold statement from him because there will be other talented wide receivers returning next season to college football. One of them happens to be Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Ryan Williams.

He was the best this year

Hes a top 5 WR on earth. Right now

good news, you don’t have to be the best WR to win awards anymore, just need the right marketing team behind you.

    — Gleeful Skeptic (@GleefulSkeptic) December 26, 2024

He was the best THIS season if we keep it honest. Stars aside what other wideout you taking over him? He’s big, fast, strong. And STILL developing

There is no doubt that if the star Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver keeps up this pace, he could be a top-five pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.  When his college career is over, Jeremiah Smith could be the best ever Buckeyes wide receiver ever to play for this football program.
