Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick took to Instagram to ask for money for a campaign on Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a tradition held on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, where non-profits typically attempt to raise money and promote hashtag activism.

Kaepernick had one promotion near to his heart Tuesday, and that was for the Know Your Rights Camp campaign. Kaepernick posted a story on his Instagram with the hashtag “#GIVINGTUESDAY” and asked his followers to learn about and donate to Know Your Rights Camp.

According to the Know Your Rights Camp website, their mission is to help the well-being of Black and Brown communities:
“Our mission is to advance the liberation and well-being of Black and Brown communities through education, self-empowerment, mass-mobilization and the creation of new systems that elevate the next generation of change leaders.”
The program has ten points on people’s rights, including the right to be free, healthy, and brilliant.

It’s encouraging to see Kaepernick return to his activism as we head into the winter months. Kaepernick has been busy trying to get back into the NFL world earlier this fall. Kaepernick also had new partnership with Nike that celebrated his activism, which came out in October.

And how much were you paid by Nike, sir, for inserting your socialist activism into NFL sports? And you want us to give YOU money for your “Know Your Rights” camp? The money could be better used to promote the values of education, hard work, respect for others, obedience to the law, no shoplifting or burglarizing or attacks on other people — especially on other people of color, and creating stable two-parent families where these values are taught. I’ll give you money for that.
How much are people like you paid (payment on privilege) to continue to apout tired and tireless talking points? , outlining the effects of a brutal campaign against African Americans since the founding of this country… that still has reverberating effects to this Day. How come people always want to focus on the effects of racism, and how it has played out in Black lives. But never the perpetration or the attitude that continue it’s ugly attitude and heritage of being *against-Black…to this day. The past is directly connected to the present, but people like you will never acknowledge that. And will always count on ignorance and bias to turn a blind eye to the facts. Your position is rooted in hate.
Maybe your culture. No one wants anything from you, except human decency and respect…which you and yours have proved to be incapable of. Keep your blood money. It’s worthless to those with a soul…
