The Cleveland Browns starting center Ethan Pocic did not play in their Week 6 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles because he suffered a knee injury in their Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders. The Browns had to rely on Nick Harris to replace Pocic in the starting rotation. Harris spent the first four years in Cleveland and signed with the Seattle Seahawks during the offseason, but the Browns traded for him in August after backup center Luke Wypler suffered a fractured ankle in their first preseason game.
Unfortunately, he didn’t last very long.
The Cleveland Browns’ backup suffered a significant ankle injury
Nick Harris’s day didn’t last long after suffering an apparent right ankle injury on their third offensive snap of the game. The medical staff carted him off the field and immediately put an air cast on his right leg. After the game, Kevin Stefanski told the media that he suffered a fractured fibula and would require surgery. It was a matter of time before the Browns would place him on injured reserve.
He will miss the rest of the season
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the Cleveland Browns made a flurry of roster moves on Tuesday. Of the moves they made, the Browns placed Nick Harris on injured reserve, effectively ending his season. Harris being on injured reserve is a devastating blow to their injury-depleted offensive line.
#Browns have placed C Nick Harris (ankle) on injured reserve and signed WR James Proche II and C Cameron Tom to the practice squad. To make room on the roster, they released RB Gary Brightwell and DT Siaki Ika from the practice squad.

How will they handle the center position?
Ethan Pocic is considered day-to-day with his knee injury, and it’s too early in the week to determine if he’ll play in their Week 7 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kevin Stefanski told the media they have a decision to make if Pocic can’t play this week. Michael Dunn will likely start if Pocic is out this week. Dunn got the nod in Week 6 at right guard but moved to center for the rest of the game.
