The Cleveland Browns were expected to sign Shedeur Sanders as their brand new quarterback for the next NFL season. However, as per recent rumors, the Browns are not interested in Sanders anymore and are not sure as to whom they will be picking as a starting quarterback.
Mike Mayock, a former NFL player, seems worried for the Cleveland Browns in his appearance on Rich Eisen’s show. As per Mayock, the team will have to make a decision soon about Sanders, and if they don’t they will be left with the likes of Kirk Cousins or Derek Carr, or else they will have to play Kenny Pickett as a starter.
“We got to go find a veteran and Aaron Rodgers, if he goes to Pittsburgh, like we all think, you know, at the end of the day, what does that leave for a quality veteran starter? To me, it’s Kirk Cousins and Derek Carr. If you don’t get either one of them, then uh oh, we’re in the Carson Wentz, Ryan Tannehill, Joe Flacco world, and you got to be careful, because I’m not sure you want Kenny Pickett under center week one in Cleveland.” Mike Mayock said on The Rich Eisen Show about the Cleveland Browns and their starting quarterback situation.
In the 2024 NFL season, the Cleveland Browns finished fourth in the AFC North after winning only three games and losing 14. The Browns played their final game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens and were thrashed with a final score of 35-10.

Cleveland Browns Expect Myles Garrett To Take On More Leadership Responsibility
The Cleveland Browns surprised everyone by signing their defensive end, Myles Garrett, for four more years for a whopping $160 million. Garrett, in fact, put in a trade request with the team but was convinced by the management to stay with the unit for four more years. However, Garrett is not only expected to play his role of defensive end in the team, but also take on more leadership responsibilities as per the new agreement.
