There can never be a season without the Cleveland Browns having a ton of drama, and most of it has to do with the starting quarterback, Deshaun Watson, who is now out the entire season with a torn Achilles.
Before Watson tore his Achilles, he was playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, and many were pointing fingers at who wanted him in Cleveland.
Cleveland Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam Didn’t Want Watson
While everyone in Cleveland says Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was the leader in wanting Watson, one radio host with great sources has a different idea.
Ken Carman, who hosts a radio show on 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland every weekday from 6-10 AM ET and is also very close to covering the Cleveland Browns, stated on his show Thursday morning that he heard from sources that Haslam didn’t start the train to get Watson. They loved the former quarterback Baker Mayfield, but Mayfield’s immaturity led the Browns down a different path.

Nobody will ever know who the first was to want Watson, but there is a good shot, if the reports are true, that Haslam was talked into getting him by general manager Andrew Berry and head coach Kevin Stefanski. One or both will be fired.
There is no way Berry can keep his job if he is the one who wanted Watson because he set the franchise back for another five years and should not be the person who sticks around to fix it.
The Cleveland Browns are a giant mess, and someone will have to get fired this offseason because the team is so bad.It will be interesting to see what moves the Browns make, but there has to be a change coming to send a message that this season and the Watson trade are unacceptable.
