The Cleveland Browns lost badly on Sunday. This came in the form of a disheartening 28-3 blowout loss against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4 as the Browns marked their second loss of the season.
This defeat came at quite a cost as well, with star defensive end Myles Garrett suffering a foot injury during the game.
Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett Seen in Walking Boot
Garrett was forced to exit the game in the third quarter after what was initially believed to be some sort of ankle injury. The two-time All-Pro DE made a quick visit to the medical tent but was able to return to the game not long after.
In his post-game interview, Garrett revealed that it was actually an issue with his foot and not his ankle:
“It got rolled up a little bit,” Garrett said, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “They’re trying to take precaution. It wasn’t my first choice, but I’m just trying to do what I can to get back as soon as possible.”
This isn’t a very encouraging development for Cleveland fans everywhere, as they now hold their breath for any further updates on Garrett’s concerning foot injury. The four-time Pro Bowler will likely get some more tests done on Monday, which should determine his status moving forward.
Myles Garrett Expects to Be Back Soon
The silver lining here for the Browns is that they get a bye week in Week 5. This will give Garrett more time to heal up as they prepare to face off against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6.
For his part, the 27-year-old intends to take full advantage of his team’s upcoming break:
“Watch film and go home,” he said. “It’s your bye week. Get your mind off it. That’s what you do. Whether it was Week 5 or Week 12, use this time to refresh, reset and get back to work.”
When asked about his status for Week 6 against the Niners, Garrett had a straightforward three-word response:
“I’ll be ready,” he said.
Myles Garrett is clearly confident that this knock won’t be costing him any time on the sidelines.
