The Cleveland Browns are looking very dangerous entering the playoffs. They are coming off another solid win against the New York Jets and another exceptional game from Joe Flacco, who just a few months ago was sitting on his couch watching the NFL season from home. The Browns put up 37 points against a solid Jets defense with Falcco finishing the game with 3 touchdown passes, 309 yards, and an interception.
The Browns looked like a good team in the beginning of the year with highly paid Deshaun Watson under center, and Nick Chubb at the running back position. Then they lost both those starters and it quite shocking to say the least they look even better now. That is in huge part to Flacco’s amazing play and the offense coming alive with him at the helm.
This is a story that isn’t being spoken about enough, as almost every other team, from the plethora of teams this year in the NFL, that have lost their starting quarterback are no longer real playoff teams let alone legitimately dangerous. This team lost Watson and Chubb and are arguably looking better. The Browns defense is still one of, if not the best in the NFL, and their offense is playing its best football of the year.
Cleveland Browns’ Joe Flacco Has Been The Best Quarterback In The NFL This Past Month
In a strange year for quarterbacks in the NFL, Joe Flacco has been the best quarterback in the league over the last month of football as the regular season comes to a close. The Browns are on a hot 4 game win streak and during that stretch Flacco has been nothing short of exceptional, with his stats mirroring his same stats back when the Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl and he took home the MVP.
Now, more than a decade later, Flacco is playing his best football leading into the post season. Over the past month, Flacco has been averaging 340 yards, 2.8 touchdowns a game, and the Browns are averaging 31 points a game on offense.
In his post game interview, Joe was candid about how happy he is to be on this team that has major hopes for what they can accomplish in the post season. He was quoted after the game saying:
“I’m just so fortunate to be on this team,” Flacco told Garafolo regarding his current four-game streak of performances with 300-plus passing yards. “We have a bunch of guys hurt and we’re still a really talented group. Kevin is calling a hell of a game every week. As a quarterback, you just get the ball to guys. It’s all about them winning and getting us in the right spot, so that’s what it is.”
Why wouldn’t he be happy as he is playing his best football in his career. This is a year that is up for grabs in the AFC. While the Baltimore Ravens have been amazing they can definitely be beat. If Cleveland can make some real noise in the post season, then the media and the NFL world will get much crazier around this story and how crazy it actually is.
