Cleveland Browns fans are some of the best in the NFL, and they fell in love with backup quarterback Joe Flacco last season, who came in and started towards the end of the season and helped bring the Cleveland Browns to the playoffs.
Cleveland Browns Fans Wanted Flacco Back In 2024
When the season felt like it was over at times, Flacco came in and saved the day. He was just a breath of fresh air, but the Browns didn’t even think about bringing him back to the team to be a backup in 2024, and they never even offered him a contract.
Flacco Is Heading To The Colts
The Browns signed New Orleans Saints backup quarterback Jameis Winston on Tuesday. Many Browns fans were sad that Flacco would not return to the team, and many still held out hope that he wouldn’t be signed. They could reunite again if a quarterback on the roster were injured. Still, Joe Flacco agreed to a deal with the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, leaving any possibility of him returning out the door.
Fans embraced Flacco like he brought them a Super Bowl. Philadelphia won a Super Bowl in 2017-2018 with backup quarterback Nick Foles, and fans loved him, obviously. If you bring a Super Bowl to a city that never won one, everyone is going to love you like their son, but Flacco felt the same way for Cleveland fans. He only got them to the playoffs and couldn’t even bring home a win.
Flacco also loved Cleveland and talked about how much he loved the fans and the city. He would’ve loved to stay if everything were equal, but sadly, that wasn’t the case. The Browns had no interest in him, and now he will be heading to a state over and putting on a Colts uniform.
Thanks for getting the Browns to the playoffs when the season seemed over at many times. Many Cleveland fans will always have a special place in their hearts for you.
