After letting go of elite nose tackle D.J. Reader, the Cincinnati Bengals have put themselves into a box for the upcoming NFL Draft. Over the past few seasons, Reader has been an absolute monster on the defensive interior both clogging holes against the running game and collapsing the pocket on opposing quarterbacks. Now, Cincinnati will need to figure out a new strategy to keep its defense from falling off a cliff in 2024.
Cincinnati Bengals Bring in Monster Defensive Player for Visit
On Wednesday, Cincinnati hosted University of Texas standout defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat for a visit. Sweat was an absolute monster on the defensive line for Texas last season and he has compiled 127 tackles (17.5 for loss), five sacks and 13 passes deflected during his five-year career for the Longhorns. Most importantly, Sweat is arguably the most physically gifted interior lineman in the entire draft as he measures in at 6’4″ and 366 pounds.
