The 4-7 Cincinnati Bengals will not play this week because they are on a BYE. During the BYE week, the Bengals must figure out how to solve their pass-defense issues to stay alive in playoff contention. So far, the pass defense has been atrocious, allowing the seventh-most passing yards and sixth-most passing touchdowns through 11 weeks.
Their pass defense will be tested for the rest of the season since two of their top cornerbacks are out for the season or an extended period. Their second-year player is the most recent cornerback who could miss the rest of 2024.
The Cincinnati Bengals placed a promising second-year DB on IR
As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, standout second-year player DJ Turner II suffered a fractured clavicle against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football. The injury could sideline him for the rest of the 2024 season, but head coach Zac Taylor didn’t officially announce his fate. The best-case scenario is he misses at least four games and returns near the end of 2024, but the worst-case scenario is he doesn’t return.

Marco Wilson finished the remainder of 2023 and the first half of 2024 in New England
After the Arizona Cardinals released Marco Wilson late in December during the 2023 season, the New England Patriots claimed him off waivers shortly after. Wilson participated in one game with the Patriots in 2023 and played 10 defensive snaps.
Wilson couldn’t carve out a significant role on defense this season, appearing in ten of 11 games with zero starts and participating in 32% of defensive snaps. The Patriots waived him on Monday to make room for Alex Austin on the active roster.
Fast forward to now, Wilson is on his third team in his fourth season in the National Football League.
