Analyzing the Chiefs’ Top Undrafted Free Agents After the 2025 Draft
After the 2025 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs’ 2025 class is looking very strong, and it’s not just their initial draft picks that have some sizable potential. Kansas City has 16 additional undrafted free agents now under contract, with positions covering a wide range of offense and defense. Here’s the best of the 2025 post-draft class for the Chiefs, since breaking down all 16 players under contract with KC would be a serious TL;DR.

Elijhah Badger- WR, Florida
A driving force on offense for Arizona State in 2022 and 2023, where he logged a career 1640 receiving yards from 142 receptions resulting in 10 touchdowns, Badger then transferred to Florida for the 2024 season, where he added 806 receiving yards on 39 receptions and 4 touchdowns. That led Florida as a team in 2024, ahead of players like Chimere Dike (783 yards on 42 receptions and 2 touchdowns), who ended up being a 5th-round choice by the Tennessee Titans in this year’s draft. But besides the numbers, Badger has his own strengths for an undrafted player. He impressed scouts at the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis by racking up a 4.43 40-yard dash and a 35.5-inch vertical jump.
Badger was one of just five FBS receivers to average more than 20 yards per reception in 2024, and he didn’t record a single drop on 61 targets, making him a solid argument for why he went undrafted by anybody, seeing as his teammate in Dike did, even with similar numbers.

Jake Briningstool– TE, Clemson
Now here’s an interesting case for someone going undrafted. You’re telling me a guy that became Clemson’s all-time leading TE in receiving yards at the position and the number 10 overall TE in the entire draft pool wasn’t picked by anyone out of 257 opportunities? Very peculiar. But that’s just how special Briningstool is, and his 2024 season with the Clams (just kidding, the Tigers) was nothing short of phenomenal, racking up 530 yards on 49 receptions for 7 touchdowns.
And Briningstool’s combined numbers over the last two seasons are insane as well- over 1000 receiving yards on 101 receptions for 12 touchdowns. For a tight end. I think we could be looking at a potential Travis Kelce 2.0 if this guy makes it through training camp.

Mac Dalena- WR, Fresno State
At only 5’9″, Dalena is a rather small WR that could find valuable use as the Chiefs’ next kick returner, as his 2024 season was a breakout, racking up 1065 receiving yards on 64 receptions for 8 touchdowns. Dalena was a 4 year starter for the Mountain West Bulldogs, and perhaps his size and the school he played at may have been a factor in why he went undrafted. But as the saying goes, one team’s trash is another team’s treasure, and the Chiefs could capitalize on the fact that 31 other teams passed on the little guy. Still unfortunate KC hasn’t had a solid KR since Byron Pringle left. That guy had a wicked last name.
Furthermore, Dalena’s special teams experience includes 17 tackles and a blocked punt across 605 career snaps at Fresno State. Add to that his minimal drop totals (4 across 178 career receptions), and the Chiefs just might solve their receiving corps problems.
